Depending on the device or VoIP client you are using, Callwise supports displaying whether an extension is
- Offline
- Online
- Ringing
- In a call
Please note that the status is per extension and not per device. For example, if a user has a deskphone and is also using the Callwise Desktop or mobile apps, they will show as available as long as at least one of them is online. Likewise, if they are on a call on at least one device, then the extension will show as busy everywhere.
If you wish to show a status per device, then currently this will require a new extension to be created for each individual device.
Cisco Devices
Any Cisco device which is provisioned directly via the Callwise portal may optionally have a "reception" or "side" module attached. If this module is attached, then every extension configured on the module will display in the following manner:
- Red - Extension is on a call
- Orange - Unknown status / offline
- Flashing red - extension is ringing, press the extension button at this point to intercept the call
- Green - Online / available
Callwise Windows 10 and macOS Desktop clients
The Callwise Windows and macOS clients can show extension information providing that the Directory within the Callwise Portal has been configured to include local extensions.
When local extensions are included in the Directory, each extension will be shown in the Contact list along with a coloured icon indicating their status
- Green - Online / available
- Orange - Busy / on a call
- Grey - Unknown Status / Offline
